NLPGtoTAB>
The NLPGtoTAB utility may be used to convert a standard National Land and Property Gazetteer (NLPG) CSV file to MapInfo TAB format.

NLPGtoTAB reads a standard validated NLPG CSV file and produces a 'flat' MapInfo table with NLPG information. Initially all the NLPG CSV data is read and imported into standard MapInfo 'Browser' Tables. All NLPG CSV data is stored in these tables. Once the data has been imported, the utility will then create a 'mapped' UPRN Table. At this stage the user is able to select the language to be used for the 'mapped' UPRN table. The mapped table produced is in a similar format to the standard Ordnance Survey Address Point Data.

During the import process, additional 'indexed' fields are created for PostCode/Property Number and PostCode/Property Name, which may be used for quick property location. All NLPG UPRN information may then be viewed or queried by all MapInfo Users.

Using this process any standard NLPG CSV file may be 'translated' into an 'OS Address Point' type database.

Two options are available which import either DTF 6.3 format or DTF 7.3 format data. All future development work will be undertaken using the DTFv7.3 format.

The adjacent graphics show the NLPG/UPRN mapped table with the info tool displaying the constructed data fields and an extract from a Browser table.

The NLPGtoTAB utility may also be used to import multiple NLPG CSV files to form a 'combined' UPRN mapped table. This may be useful where a organisation may be required to view NLPG data from more than one Local Authority Maintaining Organisation.

NLPGtoTAB may also be used to process 'Change-Only' Update files - to update an existing holding of NLPG data to form a new supply. From this new supply a user may then run the 'Create UPRN map' to form a new UPRN mapped table.

NLPGtoTAB is a standard MapBasic program and may be run from any version of MapInfo v5.0 and above. The output produced by NLPGtoTAB is a standard MapInfo Table and therefore may be viewed by any MapInfo user or any application that can view standard MapInfo tables.
An evaluation version of NLPGtoTAB may be downloaded (See Downloads Page) - No password is required. Please note: the evaluation version will only process even numbered UPRNs - All Odd numbered UPRNs will be ignored.
